Fall Events in Nashville
What’s Happening in Nashville This Fall
October 6, 2026

As the days get cooler and the summer crowd dies down, there’s a different kind of energy around Nashville. Most locals know the usual fall lineup: pumpkin patches, Oktoberfest, haunted houses, repeat. But there’s more happening this season than hayrides and cider.
Here are a few fall events in Nashville offering something different.
The Nashville Whiskey Festival: Saturday, October 10th
If your idea of fall leans more toward a good pour than pumpkin spice, the Nashville Whiskey Festival is an easy one to add to the list. Its Grand Whiskey Tasting brings together 100+ whiskeys alongside scotch, tequila, mezcal, rum, gin, food pairings, cocktails, live jazz, dueling pianos, and workshops. Serious collectors will find plenty to nerd out over, but you don’t need a whiskey vocabulary to enjoy the night.
BOOze at The Zoo: Thursday, October 15th
For one night in October, the Nashville Zoo stays open for the 21+ crowd. BOOze at the Zoo pairs unlimited beer, wine, and cocktail samples with food trucks, animal encounters, carousel rides, a DJ, and a costume contest. Some of the zoo’s residents stick around too, including the Sumatran tigers and flamingos.
Southern Festival of Books: Saturday, October 17th & Sunday, October 18th
The Southern Festival of Books is one of the longest-running Nashville fall events, bringing hundreds of authors and thousands of readers downtown each October.

The free two-day festival is easy to drop into for an hour or to make an entire afternoon of. Across three downtown venues, you’ll find author talks, booksellers, publishers, food trucks, and live performances.
The Harvest Sessions: Tuesday, November 17th
Not every good Nashville night happens downtown, and this one’s worth the short drive out of the city. On November 17th, Mobile Music Institute heads to Jamesleine Farm in Franklin to host an evening of live music, with time to enjoy the property, share a few drinks, and play a few rounds of cornhole between sets. The lineup features singer-songwriters Grace Leer, Van Andrew, Willie Morrison, Eric Van Houten, and Josh Melton, sharing both the songs and the stories behind them.
For anyone looking for live music in Franklin, TN, it’s a welcome change from the usual packed downtown venues.
What One Night Does for Fifteen Students
Proceeds from this event help Mobile Music Institute bring its flagship program to Nashville, giving 15 students six tuition-free weeks alongside industry professionals. Beyond writing and recording an original song, students learn what it takes to build a career in music, from contracts and royalties to branding and touring. And they practice the skills every good team depends on: taking feedback, working through disagreements, meeting deadlines, and showing up for one another.

Fall Pop-Up Bars Around Nashville
Fall events in Nashville aren't limited to concerts, festivals, and annual traditions. A handful of bars and hotel lounges take on new identities for the season, changing more than their cocktail lists.
The Spookeasy at Bar TENN builds out a full haunted hideaway with ghostly effects, themed food, cocktails, and mocktails. The Apothecary at The Pool Club pairs rooftop views with mystical decor, tarot readings, and an autumn-inspired drink list. For something more nostalgic, Sidebar becomes Hawkins, Indiana for its Upside Down Bar, complete with ’80s neon, vines, synths, and supernatural cocktails.
Hidden Bar’s Impractical Magic takes a softer witchy route, inspired by Practical Magic. Then, come November, Hidden Bar flips again. After Halloween wraps, the speakeasy transitions into a highly detailed Christmas concept, with past themes inspired by nostalgic holiday favorites like Home Alone.
Animal Yoga Around Nashville
Among the more unexpected fall events in Nashville, animal yoga has carved out its own niche. Puppies & Yoga combines an all-level flow with dedicated puppy time afterward, while Goat Yoga Nashville’s Halloween Spooktacular brings costumed baby goats into the barn throughout October.

Yoga mats are provided at both, so the main question is: puppies or goats?
Fall Art Workshops Around Nashville
If you’re looking for fall activities in Nashville that leave you with more than a photo, take a class and get a head start on holiday gifts while you’re at it. Painting with a Twist runs seasonal paint-and-sip classes throughout the season, while Nashville Pottery gets into Halloween with ceramic pumpkins and spooky handmade mugs. And just before Thanksgiving, The Clay Lady leads an all-ages workshop where you build and paint a turkey centerpiece from scratch.
Your Night Out, Their Way In
Among all the fall events in Nashville this season, November 17th comes with more behind it. You get a night of live music, stripped-back stories from the songwriters themselves, and a change of scenery outside the city. Fifteen local students get six weeks of access to the industry they hope to join.
More young musicians deserve a way into the industry, no matter where they live. If you want to help bring Mobile Music Institute to your community, reach out to start the conversation.
